Love linen, timber and leather? You’ll love Austin’s woodland inspired room with unique detail like the gorgeous ivy vine and tree branch clothing rack, created by mum Jessica.
Tell us a bit about you:
I’m Jessica and I do both interior & graphic design. Huge passion for all things interiors.
How would you describe your overall style?
Clothing style: Grungy with a twist of elegance.
Home style- industrial meets natural / scandi.
What “look” or theme did you set out to achieve with your child’s room?
Theme: woodland. I wanted a space that my son could enjoy & not grow out of too quickly. I used a lot of natural materials like linens, timber and leather. White walls with black dot decals. Ivy vines and tree branches as a clothing rack. I wanted something that was a little bit of fun.
Where is your favourite place to shop for kid’s décor?
Zanui and Adairs.
What did you save on / get for a bargain or DIY?
DIY clothing rack made from a tree branch. Cot was not expensive so we saved there.
What item was your biggest splurge?
The drawers – but even so they weren’t that expensive.
How long did it take to put it all together?
4 or 5 months. Only because this room was so special to me and I wanted it perfect. I think taking the time and slowly adding pieces makes it that much more special & exactly what I wanted.
What’s your favourite part of the room, and why?
The dot decals. I LOVE dots, stripes etc so to have a wall full of irregular dots Im so happy.
Is there anything you wish you’d done differently? If so, what?
Not really.
